Ex-LMS Black Five 44940 stands on the scrap line at the rear of Stockport Edgeley MPD on 4th May 1968. Built at Horwich works in 1946, the engine had been allocated to Newton Heath, Rose Grove, Fleetwood and finally Stockport from where it was withdrawn during March 1968.
