The Rendsburg Bridge pictured on 13th June 2013, was opened in 1913 replacing earlier swing bridges that carried the Neumünster Flensburg Railway across the Kiel Canal in Germany. This photo shows the centre span of 140M, some 42M above the height of the canal. To the North (left of this photo)the line descends through a 360 degree loop into Rendsburg station. The bridge also serves as a transporter bridge as the photo shows. The only thing lacking was a train.. 2 minutes later there was a local service, see other photos.
