You can tell when the summer is coming when Westerns start to be in operation on the Severn Valley! Adorned with a headboard to announce to the people of the Shropshire its 50th Birthday, an immaculate Class 52 No. D1062 'Western Courier' stands in the headshunt area at Bridgnorth after bringing in the 13:30 from Kidderminster. It is seen next to the Western Locomotive Associations other locomotive, BR Blue-liveried No. D1013 'Western Ranger' which is currently undergoing restoration and is not in operational use, however it was brought out of its cover to bring this fantastic sight of two Westerns side by side - it was even good weather for it!
