This is the real definition of a Super Voyager! In what may be one of the first runs of its kind, Class 52 No. D1015 'Western Champion' headed a very short rake of 4 coaches (3 Mark 2's and 1 Mark 1) as 1Z47 the 14:30 Vintage Trains Charter from Plymouth to Birmingham and Tyseley 'The Western Lickeys and Banks' tour. D1015 took 10 coaches down to Plymouth in the morning with 5043 'Earl Of Mount Edgcumbe' taking the remainder back (plus support vehicles)later. The Western handled its 4 coaches with such ease that the train was 10 minutes early into Bristol and needless to say it was a far superior journey in many ways than the that which would have been undertaken in a modern day 'voyager' !
