Many parts of the Welsh Marches are still signalled traditionally and this shot taken from the footbridge at Abergavenny Station shows that this is former Great Western Railway territory by the style of semaphore signals. On Saturday 23rd February 2013 Arriva Trains Wales Class 175 No. 175004 slows to call at the station while working the 09:08 Milford Haven to Manchester Piccadilly. To the bottom left of the image are the earthworks for tracks leading to the proposed new bay platform which will allow a more frequent service from this charming market town to Cwmbran, Newport and Cardiff.
