Making a dramatic exit from York, through a sleet and snow shower on 27th October 2012, is LNER A4 class No. 60009 'Union of South Africa', heading the Railway Touring Company's 1Z60 'The Hadrian'. The train was diesel-hauled from Skipton to York, and routed via the Tyne Valley to Carlisle, returning via the S & C.
