The first (and now the last) steam locomotive to visit Ipswich's Dock lines. The last steam working on the port was in the mid-1950s. Peckett No. 1756 'Hornpipe' while being moved from Berkshire to the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway for their 27th - 29th July Gala. Permission was obtained by Ipswich Borough Council and granted by Network Rail, who still own the severed track into the port, to allow the Peckett to be placed on the last remaining Network Rail Track. The owner of the loco said it was the first time the loco had ever been on NR metals. Seen here posing in wonderful afternoon sunshine.
