Class 27's nos 27046 & 27001 are seen on the East Coast Main Line near Beningborough, passing the '200 miles to Edinburgh' sign on 24 May 1986, heading a Scottish Railway Preservation Society charter from Falkirk to York. Both locos encountered problems on the return journey and were replaced at Newcastle by a Class 47.
