'The Marches Monarch' was run in connection with the Christmas Market at Ludlow on 26th November 2011, being diesel hauled from Eastleigh to Bristol Temple Meads where GWR King Class 4-6-0 numbered No. 6024 'King Edward 1' took over 1Z23 for the journey to Shrewsbury. This image shows the working at Llanvihangel, just north of Abergavenny and almost at the summit after a climb of about 7-miles.
