The bridge at Lougher is to be replaced in the next few years as part of the re-doubling of the line between Gowerton towards Llandeilo Junction. On a dark and wet on 15th June 2011 FGW Class 43 numbered No. 43147 leads the 07.30 Carmarthen to London Paddington, 'The Red Dragon'.
