The new East Coast timetable was introduced on 22 May 2011. The 05.40 from Edinburgh to King's Cross, designated 'The Flying Scotsman', is scheduled to complete the journey in 4 hours calling at Newcastle Central only. The inaugural train on 23rd May 2011 is seen here passes through York at 07.52 led by Mark IV DVT No. 82205. The vehicle has a new purple livery complete with 'Flying Scotsman' logo.
