Class 40 No. 40031 heads through Chapeltown with a Saturdays only Sheffield to Blackpool service in June 1979. The former Midland Railway station, originally known as Chapeltown South, was closed shortly after this photograph was taken and a new station, sited about a 1/4 mile nearer sheffield, opened.
