August 13 saw the first working of a loaded timber train from Ribblehead-Chirk, a trial run for a possible regular, future working. working as 6Z41, the train was hauled throughout by Colas No. 47739 Robin of Templecombe, arriving exactly to time at Chirk, and thus resulting in the firat visit of a Class 47 to the Kronospan plant. After having reversed the KFA wagons into the yard, No. 47739 sits in almost total darkness as it awaits the unloading process to begin. Note also just visible in the foreground, between the two fences, is the new track bed being prepared for a new siding to accommodate the future, longer length trains.
