The first ever Virgin Voyager to appear at Wrexham. 221103 Christopher Columbus stands at Platform 2 of Wrexham General on December 8 with a trial run prior to the start of Virgin's new Wrexham-London services on December 14, mainly for assessment of platform clearances and siting of "4/5 Car" stop signs on Platforms 1 and 2. At the time of writing, Virgin were still to be officially granted an open access licence, and the Wrexham and Shropshire Company had lodged a protest about Virgin's operations.
