No. D9000 'Royal Scots Grey' has arrived at Glasgow Central with a Virgin trains service fron Birmingham on 14th November 1997. At this time, Virgin were making use of the loco on a number of their scheduled services. The train had departed Preston around 25 mins late, arrival into Glasgow was just 12 minutes late. I timed the loco as having reached 115 mph between Penrith and Carlisle, although the driver would not confirm this!
