It is 00.43 on 5th January 1970, the end of the line for Sheffield Victoria. January 2010 marks the 40th anniversary of the closure of the station and the withdrawal of the pssenger service on the Woodhead route. The final train is pictured after arrival at platform 5, hauled by EM1 No. 26054 'Puto'. This was a hastily arranged 'special' to allow enthusiasts to return home from Manchester following earlier problems caused by the derailment of a freight train.
