Class 377 Electrostar number 377505 in First Capital Connect livery pauses at East Croydon on a service from Bedford to Brighton, a route formerly operated by Thameslink, at 10:28 on 10th August 2009. The Class 355s all originally belonged to Southern, but during a recent fleet reshuffle to cover for a lack of units, a number of Class 377s were transferred to FCC as a stopgap measure. The long term plan is for 1100 new vehicles of units of four car length to enter service in 2012.
