Arriva Trains Wales Class 175 no. 175107 is seen departing Helsby with the 08:45 Llandudno – Manchester Piccadily service on 5th August 2009. This pretty little station was built by the former Birkenhead Joint Railway, a partnership between the Great Western and London & North Western companies. The branch to the right carries regular coal freight from Ellesmere Port to Fiddlers Ferry power station, FHH having the current contract.
