Due to the introduction of new 'Mark 4' Intercity coaches & DVT sets and also new '22200' Diesel Railcar sets on IE services the existing Mark 3 Intercity rolling stock has a very limited future. This service to Galway was still formed of the 'traditional' Mark 3 set, which also includes a Mark 2 Brake / Generator coach which provides power to the coaching stock.
