Restored Class 87 No 87002 'Royal Sovereign' awaits departure from Birmingham International on the morning of 15th October with the first Class 87 passenger working since the class were withdrawn from regular service. Resplendent in orginal BR Blue complete with an 'Electric Scot' headboard, 87002 stands at the head of an equally impressive rake of 13 Blue/Grey Mark 2 & 3 coaches as it waits for its 0726 departue to Glasgow Central.
