Spoornet Class 6E1 no. E1406 (displaying 'OFS' for Orange Free State, now simply 'Free State'), stands alongside Class 18E no. 18-131 at Beaconsfield Depot on 3rd August 2007. The Class 18E was formerly a 6E1, and the former no.1 cab now contains a toilet creating an 'eye-patch' look. These locos consequently operate in pairs, but are often seen hauling trains requiring 6 locos to work in multiple.
