In 1991 this location experienced a huge rock slide which blocked road and river and destroyed the railway formation. The rockfall area is on the right of the picture as BVZ Class HGe4/4II No. 5 approaches the new track location following the rockfall on 10.23 Brig-Zermatt on 27th February 1994.
