Railfreight Coal Sector-liveried Class 60 No. 60047 crosses the M6 Motorway Bridge immediately north of Keele services on the last loaded coal train from Silverdale Colliery-Crewe Basford Hall on 10th December 1993. This was on the truncated remains of the former Stoke Newcastle Jcn-Market Drayton Branch of the North Staffordshire Railway which by then ran from Silverdale Colliery terminating at the former Madeley Road station where a runround and turnback siding was constructed to gain access to the northbound WCML adjacent to Madeley SB.
