The former L&SWR signal box at Instow on the closed Barnstaple to Torrington line which is now the Tarka Trail cycleway. When the line finally closed in 1982 villagers formed the Instow Box Emergency Restoration Fund and they were successful in achieving a grade 2 listing for the box.
