On 9th May 2013, the first day of the Steam Dreams-promoted 'Cathedrals Explorer' working, SR Merchant Navy Class No. 35028 'Clan Line' heads west from Axminster through Abbey Gate with the notorious climb of Honiton Bank little more than a mile away. The day's itinerary began with a circular trip around Kent and Sussex behind Class 67 No. 67020 taking in the towns of Margate, Ramsgate and Canterbury. The Merchant Navy then operated the second leg from London Victoria to Exeter St.Davids running via Salisbury and Honiton.
