Seen from the end of Platform 2 at Inverness Station on 23rd April 1988, Class 37/4's No. 37421 and 37418 'An Comunn Gaidhealach', which translates as 'The Gaelic Association' are being prepared for service on Inverness TMD. Both arrived at Glasgow Eastfield TMD in March 1985, following Class 37/4 conversion at BREL Crewe Works, tranferring north to Inverness during January 1986. Both then remained at Inverness until moving south to Immingham TMD in September 1990. Following a spell in preservation at the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway No. 37421 was purchased by Colas and is currently main line certified while No. 37418 was purchased for preservation after withdrawl in December 2007 and can be found at the East Lancashire Railway.
