Cosmetically restored WP&YR Mogul No. 52 sits alongside the fully operational rotary snowplough No. 1 at Skagway on 12th July 2016. No. 52 was the first locomotive of the Whitepass Railway when acquired from Columbia and Puget Sound in 1898. Originally built for the Utah and Northern Railroad by Brooks in 1881, it is hoped that, after an evaluation report, the locomotive can be fully restored. No. 1 was built by the Cook Locomotive and Machinery Co., Paterson, New Jersey in 1898.
