Class 14 No. D9521 was built at BR Swindon Works and entered service from Old Oak Common MPD during November 1964. After a working life of just over 4 years she was withdrawn from Landore MPD, Swansea in April 1969. Purchased by the National Coal Board in March 1970 she would spend over 14 years working on the NCB Ashington Colliery Railway system in Northumberland before her final withdrawl in November 1984. Subsequently purchased for preservation she has spent much of the last 30 years on the Dean Forest Railway in Gloucestershire although in this image No. D9521 is seen in immaculate condition running round her train in Llangollen Station on 2nd October 2010 while on a visit to the railway.
