One of the few remaining fine examples of semaphore signalled main line railway can be found on the 'North & West' - the Newport to Shrewsbury route along which Arriva Trains Wales run an hourly Cardiff - Manchester service, half a dozen services to North Wales and also significant freight flows. The signal box and signals at Abergavenny are clearly seen as Class 175 No. 175101 arrives with a Milford Haven to Manchester Piccadilly service.
