Tucked away above the eyeline at the Lichfield St. Marys Museum are two locomotive nameplates of relevance to the City. The "City of Lichfield" is the valuable nameplate from Stanier Pacific No. 46250, although the background should be in black not red as this was a green-liveried locomotive. "Samuel Johnson" (famous Lichfield author of the Dictionary of English Language) was from Class 60 No. 60062 (Which still works for DB Schenker). Interestingly there was a Samuel W. Johnson, CME of the Midland Railway 1873-1903. As seen on 18th February 2015.
