Class 304 No. 304037 awaits departure time in Platform 10 at Crewe Station on Thursday 4th October 1990 with a service for Liverpool Lime Street while the driver reads the Daily Mirror. Built by BR at its Wolverton Works and delivered in July 1961 No. 304037 would spend 34 years serving passengers in the North West of England before being withdrawn from Longsight TMD in June 1995, dragged up the WCML to Glasgow, and later scrapped by MC Metals during June 1996.
