A very clean Class 08 No. 08321 is stabled on Hamilton MPD on a damp Sunday 2nd April 1978. Although mainly a DMU Depot for Glasgow Surburban services a handful of Class 08s were maintained here at this time. Built at BR Derby Works during October 1957 as No. D3391 and renumbered under TOPS in April 1974 her first allocation had been to Eastfield Shed in nearby Glasgow. A close examination of its bufferbeam still shows a stencilled 65A shedplate although I believe by this time it was actually a Hamilton allocated shunter after a fairly recent transfer from Eastfield. Moved the short distance across to Motherwell Depot during 1980 upon the closure of Hamilton the '08' would remain there until withdrawal which took place in June 1984. Scrapping was completed by JR Adams of Glasgow in January 1986 which means its entire life of nearly 30 years was spent around the south western suburbs of Glasgow.
