HSB Class 199 No. 199 874-9 is using the turntable to access the exit road from Wernigerode Depot on Tuesday 1st July 2014 on its way to the carriage Depot 1km away to collect the first rake of 8 coaches for the days services. The building behind the turntable is the main signalbox for the entire 140km of the Harz Railway Network and keeps in communication with all trains by radio as well as colour light signals. Stabled in the background are 2 of the Mallet 0-4-4-0T locos kept for operating special services or charters, No. 99 5901 in black and red livery and No. 99 5902 in green and red livery. The DB standard gauge tracks can be seen running behind the signalbox.
