Ex-LMS Black Five No. 45156 Ayrshire Yeomanry stands at Edge Hill MPD between duties on 4th May 1968. Built by Armstrong Whitworth in 1935, the loco was one of a handful of named Black Fives. From new it was allocated to St. Rollox, Glasgow but from 1957, it spent the rest of its career in the North-West, finally being withdrawn from Rose Grove in August 1968. Sadly, it did not escape the cutters torch.
