For a number of years after withdrawl from NCB service at Walkden Colliery near Manchester ex NSR 0-6-2T No. 2 was stored out of public view at Shugborough Hall near Stafford. On 12th May 1984 it was removed to The Chatterley Whitfield Mining Museum at Burslem in North Staffs but unfortunately the Museum was unsuccessful and No. 2, part of the national collection, now resides faraway from its spiritual home at NRM Shildon. The loco is here seen leaving Shugborough on a Wynn's Transporter at the start of its journey to Chatterley Whitfield.
