On Saturday 13th December 1986 dual braked Class 03 No. 03094 is under repair inside it's home Depot of Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne. Built in BREL Doncaster Works in June 1960 as No. D2094 it had a long working life on BR of almost 28 years. Most of this was spent in the North East of England, being allocated to Gateshead MPD from at least 1974 until withdrawl during January 1988. Happily No. 03094 was purchased for preservation and 26 years later can nowadays be found on the Royal Deeside Railway, Milton of Crathes, Aberdeenshire.
