An unidentified Class 27/0 is pictured coasting down past Edinburgh Airport with a semi-fast service from Dundee to Edinburgh on Tuesday 2nd September 1986. Dalmeny Station and the Forth Rail Bridge are out of the picture to the top left and are only visible in a portrait style photo from this location. The approach landing lights for Runway 24 at Edinburgh Turnhouse Airport can be seen on the right hand edge of the photo and also above the first coach. There are very few places in the UK where you can combine Aviation and Railway photography from the same position but this is one, as long as you use a long lens. Time was running out for the Class 27 class by this time and the last examples were withdrawn by July 1987.
