Inverness allocated Class 47/4 No. 47461 'Charles Rennie Mackintosh' is seen waiting to depart Glasgow Central Station on Monday 24th June 1985 at the head of a boat train for Stranraer Harbour. Named at Glasgow Queen Street Station on 22nd March 1982 No. 47461 would carry the name, complete with crests, of this Scottish architect, designer and artist, until November 1990 when they were removed at Eastfield TMD Glasgow. No. 47461 had been delivered to the BR Eastern Region in May 1964 as No. D1581 before moving to Scotland during July 1979. Inverness had been her home Depot since October 1984 and while still allocated there she was involved in an accident at Liverpool Lime Street Station in November 1990. This resulted in No. 47461 being removed firstly to Eastfield TMD for assessment, then to BREL Crewe Works from where she was condemned in March 1991. C F Booth of Rotherham completed the scrapping of No. 47461 during December 1993.
