Trouble at Carlisle. All services were suspended between Carlisle and Preston on the afternoon of 29th January 2014 due to overhead wire problems at Penrith. Two First TPE Class 185s were stranded in Carlisle, No. 185143 on the left having just terminated with the 13:09 from Glasgow Central to Manchester Airport and No. 185103 stabled in the sidings with a shattered windscreen. It's not known if the damage was linked to the problem at Penrith.
