Class 24/1 No. 24118 stabled on Ayr MPD during April 1976. Delivered as D5118, the twin headlights plated over low down on the cab front and the recess for tablet catching equipment point to a long association with the far north of Scotland lines around her Inverness depot. Withdrawn in December 1976, by which time Hatmarket, Edinburgh was her home depot, soon after this photo was taken scrapping was undertaken by Doncaster Works during June 1977.
