In 2007 Northern's Leeds-Carlisle service was the preserve of Class 156's but now they are quite rare on the S&C as Class 158's have taken over . On 26th February 2007 Class 156 No. 156426 has Class 153 No. 153359 as company on 09:49 Leeds-Carlisle as they start the long descent north shortly after breasting Ais Gill summit which can be seen in the background.
