To celebrate the 125th anniversary of the GWR on 1st March 1979, Great Western 4.6.0 King 6000'King George V' ran a special from Paddington to Didcot. The train is pictured passing the 1 mile from Paddington site at 11:20 running side by side with an HST. Unfortunately the King failed at Didcot with a hot box.
