The rear car of Hasting unit No. 1001 draws into Crewe station on 17th August 1996 with Hasting Diesel group railtour from Hasting via Kensington Olympia and the WCML to Crewe, for the Works open-day, and Chester. This was only the second public railtour that the restored unit had worked.
