The Cruise Liner charter operated by DRS between Glasgow and Southampton Docks is one of the rare locomotive workings to operate over the Preston - Chorley - Bolton route. On 3rd September 2012 it was Class 47s No. 47802 Pride of Cumbria and No. 47841 which powered the Glasgow - Southampton service as they curved through the approach to Chorley Station.
