The remains of Standard 9F No. 92219, the penultimate steam locomotive built by BR in 1960 with a scandalously short six-year working life, have been at the back of the Swanwick Depot at the Midland Railway - Butterley for many years. Here on 19th August 2012 the weeds are growing around the rusting hulk, but there may be good news as the 9F Locomotive charitable trust have announced that they have a prospective buyer who is interested in restoration rather than breaking the loco up for spare parts. Time will tell.
