One of the great attributes of the GCR is the ability to see passing traffic throughout its double lined length, as seen here, during the railway's three day 1960's Steam Gala event on 31st March 2012. As LMS Stanier 8F 2-8-0 No. 48624 heads off into the distance with a train of freight, GWR Hall Class 4-6-0 No. 4953 'Pitchford Hall' approaches Quorn and Woodhouse with the 2A21 12:55 Loughborough to Leicester North service.
