Work on rebuilding Reading station is clearly in evidence as class 43 No. 43176 waits at the rear of an empty stock movement on 7th January 2012. The former bay platform to the right has been ripped up while the newly renumbered platform 10, to the left, has been stripped of furniture and widened to allow further demolition to continue with the platform still in use. The original track is still in place under the temporary extension.
