London Transport livered pannier tank No. L99 stands outside Weybourne Shed, prepared ready to take part in the third day of the North Norfolk Railway’s Steam Gala, on 4th September 2011. Built in 1930 in Stoke-on-Trent, the locomotive started life with GWR as No. 7715, initially hauling china clay trains out of St. Blazey in Cornwall. After a spell working South Wales metals the locomotive was one of a number bought by London Transport to work the open-air sections of the city’s underground.
