Due to the failure of Class 37/9 No. 37901 at Heywood and the subsequent delays involved, the intended diagrams for the remainder of 7th March were somewhat amended. Class 47 No. D1501 was booked to head the 17.10 working to Rawtenstall and this was worked as planned. However once No. D1501 reached the first stop of Summerseat it too expired and was declared a failure. It is seen here awaiting a rescue locomotive at Summerseat.
