A grubby looking Amtrak AEM-7 No. 929 stands at Penn Station in New York on 12th October 2010. Built by EMD after AESA carried out analysis of Swedish and French designs, it replaced the less reliable E60CP/E60MA fleet. Producing 7000 hp, they typically operate up and down the Northeast Corridor, at speeds of 125 mph.
